Welcome and thank you for your interest in the 2018 Strides Parade of Homes in Second Life. Below is an outline of how the event is set up, you can register, and hopefully answer any other questions you have.
Join by just signing up below with a small non-refundable fee to hold your space in the event hud, and promise to take part in either building or decorating a second life dream home, with “over the top” features and looks. The fee of $L1000 can be made at the Strides office in the Events Room. Builds can be any size from fitting on a 1024 up to a mansion, and could also include skyboxes.
Empty Builds are welcome, but we are encourage the formation of Home Design teams to take on this event. Each team would consist of 1- Builder, 1 – Landscaper and up to 4- Designers/Creators decorating the inside of the home. These builds would remain in the location/store you decide to put them at for the entire month of October and we would include your Dream Home on a Hud Tour of the participating locations. We would direct traffic to you. No extra location needed, building traffic at the chosen location (we recommend this be the builder’s store) and opening up the possibility of the traffic browsing and buying at that location. Landmarks & Logos for team members will be on display at the site as well. We will also highlight builds on our website as well as packages offered. This would include the designers/builders of the items and store information.
Builders, for the build/home itself, we would ask it be a limited edition build available only during the month of October, placed in a Strides vendor with 100% going to Strides. Other versions of the build/home could be sold with a building change, such as removing some of it’s over the top features, modified where the home is not as big, or build is altered after October to be sold by builder if desired starting in January.
Interior Designers/Creators would be ask to create at least one “room package” per Designer/Creator for the build/home they decorate to be sold in Strides vendor as an exclusive package deal available only during the month of October. Other items you use in the home can be for sale in your own personal vendors or 50/50 Strides Vendors. After October, have one or two items that have been in the exclusive package removed and made unavailable or altered, starting in January.
Landscaping Designers/Creators would be ask to create at least one “package deal” for the outside of the home to be sold in a Strides vendor as an exclusive for month of October. Other items outside of the package could be offered for sale at the location in your own vendors or 50/50 Strides Vendors. In January, have items available out of package with price being higher or have missing parts of the package that had been offered in October.
All builds would be featured on the MSABC website with information on builder and their business, as well as the stores and people working with them to make the house a home. Packages created for the home would also be included.
Builders in Second Life would act as team captains. All Businesses involved would be listed on the MSABC website to help Builders who may need to find Designers or Landscapers. Names would be added to site after Businesses have registered. Builders can choose up to four Designers for their Interior Designs and one Landscaper for the outside of their home.

During the month of October we would also open voting on “Best in Show” voting. This is where each home will be listed by it’s given advertised name and visitors to the Parade of Homes can vote on their favorites in several categories. Awards will be given to the top three winners in each category. Categories being Best in Show – Overall, Best in Show – Build, Best in Show – Interior Design, Best in Show – Landscaping, and Best in Show – Theme home.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer or MSABC is the largest network of breast cancer awareness events in the nation, uniting more than 300 communities to finish the fight.
