“Treasure the Chests” Shopping Event

Did you know as a Second Life merchant or designer you have the power to save millions of women’s lives? I know you are thinking there is a catch. We are telling you the truth, plain and simple. Just by opening a storefront for one month with us, during our 2017 Making Strides: Treasure the Chests Shopping Event, you can help save millions. No, we are not asking for you to donate your profits, though we never turn down a donation. We are talking about you opening a store with us for one month and selling your product like you always do with profits going to you from your vendors. That’s right no special vendors at all. We will advertise the event, help to blog about your items, your business, and we will make sure your logo and landmark is seen by thousands in second life and on the web.

So what’s in it for us you might ask?? Your rent goes directly to the American Cancer Society’s event Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. It’s that simple!

We are looking for sponsors and merchants for this year’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (MSABC) event that runs from October 1st through October 31st, 2017. We have seven levels of store fronts ranging from Special Event Treasure to Silver; so we have a level for EVERY budget.

Several levels of shops will be highlighted and both sponsors & merchants can take part of our month long “Treasure the Chests” shopping event. We feel your business is a perfect match for this event. Here is a bit about the event: (we are looking for various types of stores and shops). The theme of the event is treasure chests, pirates, and all things piratey.

All the shops have a Victorian / Old World by the Sea shop feel. We encourage participants to embrace the theme as much as they would like but it is not required.

I’m In! What’s Required of Me?
You will be required to

• Register for your storefront between now and September 20th, 2017 by going to the following link : http://bit.ly/2uH4KPo

• Pay your rental Fee for the level of shop you would like by September 20th, 2017 to be included in the Shopper’s Guide. The latest we will accept payment is September 30th, but late participates will not be in Shopper’s Guide. Payments made be made at the Strides office in Second Life.

• Be prepared to start setting up your storefront by September 26th, 2017

• Have store open by October 1st, 2017. Storefronts will be required to be torn down between November 1st and November 4th, 2017

• Read and Agree to Comply with All Guidelines which you can find here.

Donate a One of A Kind Item for Auction at the Treasure the Chests Gala on October 28th, 2017

Donate a small item to go into the walkers’ gift bags that they will be given after the Making Strides walk on October 21st, 2017

Place a kiosk in your main store to accept donations from your customers

If you have a storefront and would like to donate a portion of your sales of a special item or if you would like to create a special item for the event to sale, with proceeds going to MSABC, you are welcome too!! Just drop your donation in the kiosk next to your shop or the kiosk at the Making Strides Office on American Cancer Society Island.

You may set items up on Marketplace with a split sell to donate and you can contact Leala or Sandie for more info on this.

You can also add a special code or deal to your Shopping Guide Ad to donate portions of an item’s sell or special pricing. Several options here, talk to Sandie or Leala for more ideas.
